We believe sustainability is more than just a topic to post about on Earth Day (which is on 4/22) — it is a call to appreciate what we hold dear and be more intentional about how we care for the world around us. We are proud to have partnered with Maggie Sottero and REEDS Jewelers, who share this perspective and have launched their own exclusive sustainability collections to lead the bridal world into a more sustainable future! To celebrate, we’re hosting a week-long “Sustainability in Bridal” trunk show event with Maggie Sottero at Camille’s of Wilmington April 20th-27th featuring sneak peeks of their latest collection of environmentally lower-impact wedding dresses! See below for all of the amazing details of this collaborative initiative for April, including more sustainable offerings from our local wedding vendors! 🌱

Every dress we're showcasing during the event hails from Maggie Sottero's Sustainable Wedding Dress Collection, featuring brand new, environmentally lower-impact fabrications! Check out the incredible story behind their sustainability initiatives in waste reduction, limiting resource consumption, and protecting biodiversity! Not to mention, Maggie Sottero has also “cultivated” a partnership with One Tree Planted to plant one tree for EVERY Maggie Sottero bridal gown special ordered! 🌱 More than 20,000 trees have already been planted since launching the collection late last year — that’s an entire forest!!!

In all the excitement, we decided to reach out to our local wedding vendors to help you explore more sustainable options that are available to you right here in our very own community. We partnered with each of them to create a Sustainability-focused Styled Shoot, captured by the incredibly talented Indigo Silver Weddings Photography and Weddings by Tiberious Videography! Scroll down to see what some of Wilmington's most sought-after wedding vendors have to offer with more environmentally-conscious options in wedding décor and design elements! Be sure to tune into our Instagram accounts (scroll to the bottom) for even more amazing content from this extra special collaboration.

Starting with your bridal jewelry, we've reached out to our friends at REEDS Jewelers and they have an exciting collection of sustainable bridal and engagement fine jewelry. We'd like to introduce you to the REEDS Downton Abbey Bridal Collection, made with diamonds that meet a rigorous standard of environmental and ethical stewardship, attaining SCS-007 certification! We collaborated with REEDS on last year's Trend Report that featured Sustainability, so we knew we would have something amazing to show you this year! Check out our other fun collaboration with REEDS Jewelers HERE.

Next, meet Alexis Scott Designs -- your local source for stylish AND sustainable invitation suites and paper goods. Not only does she design beautiful custom invitation suites, she offers paper options made with hemp, straw, and recycled cotton fiber through her partnership with Mohawk Renewal. Plus, she uses wax seals that are also recycled and made from leftover wax used on other projects. By melting the wax down, the envelopes are given a unique marbled effect, which lends itself rather nicely to the textured appearance of the hemp paper! Also, make sure to enlist the talents of The Styling Source with authentic antique components for the most beautiful and artistic flat lays -- they pair so nicely with those gorgeous invitation suites!

One of our favorite specialty rental providers, White Birch Rentals, has also joined the collaborative effort with truly unique salvaged and repurposed furniture items! We love their authentic Mid-Centry "Leah" Sofa and upholstered "Madeline" Chairs for an ultra cool, truly vintage vignette during your cocktail hour or even for your sweetheart table. They also offer gorgeous acacia round tables that are actually made of reclaimed elm from old buildings in China!

Faux Real Flowers is a local floral rental service with additional locations in North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. Their fabric floral stems look amazingly fresh and they photograph beautifully, while avoiding the large amounts of waste that is typical of single-use florals. Once a stem is ‘retired’ from their events, they are donated to different charities and organizations, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.

If you've seen the beautiful décor accents and tabletop rentals from Great Day Soirée in action, you know how carefully curated each of their pieces are, which makes their authentically vintage tabletop elements truly special. The vintage ginger jar, drinkware and painted floral vessels they featured at our shoot have such character and a uniquely beautiful bridal style with added charm!

While beautifying our brides, Meraki Beauty is making conscious efforts to beautify the world surrounding us! Glow-ups for ALL!!! We also love that Meraki Beauty advocates for a number of humanitarian, environmental, and animal welfare projects locally!

Last, but most certainly not least, we want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to the homeowners of Sloop Point Plantation -- the incredibly gorgeous venue where our styled shoot was held. Sloop Point Plantation is the oldest homestead in the state of North Carolina and has an incredible history that you can actually see on display throughout the beautiful grounds. While this is currently a private residence, the homeowners have preserved well the iconic homestead and created a stunningly beautiful destination to gather with family and friends. From the beautiful waterside gazebo vista, to the towering oak trees, the lush green lawns and blooming azaleas, and of course, the historic home itself, there is beauty at every turn and we are so excited to share it all with you through this collaboration!

Thank you to ALL of our vendors and designer partners for coming together for such a meaningful collaborative effort! While it may be challenging to achieve a 100%, fully sustainable wedding from start to finish (YET), right now it is exciting know that there are more sustainable, environmentally lower-impact options to choose from locally and from our top designer brands that help make a difference on your big day and in the days to follow. We hope we've inspired a more mindful approach to your wedding dress, jewelry, and décor selections, and we look forward to seeing you during our special Sustainability in Bridal Event with Maggie Sottero on 4/20-4/27!

Appointment slots are limited, so sure to book online ASAP or join the waitlist! We're offering a free veil or headpiece (up to $250) for every Maggie Sottero bride who special orders her wedding dress during the event, PLUS, special guest Mister Bartender will be serving up celebratory libations in honor of our Sustainability event on 4/20 and 4/27! This event is by appointment only, so be sure to book online ASAP or join the waitlist!

We can't wait to dress you up!

Your Bridal Bestie <3
